- Skip the foundation. Using it to cover up acne is a major no-no. Only women in their mid-thirties and above need it. And don't you dare tell me it looks natural on a teen! Use a concealer and a powder/tinted moisturizer, instead.
- Pat concealer, don't rub. It can cause irritation, especially if you have acne.
- Play up your lips OR your eyes. Please note that I didn't say "do both." Unless it's Halloween or your little brother's b-day party, don't do it. You'll end up looking like a clown.
- Less is more. Most teens look better without makeup. If you constantly put foundation, powder, blush, liner, mascara, eyeshadow, lip liner and gloss on an everyday basis, you're overdoing it sister. All you really need is mascara, some gloss, and concealer for blemishes. OOOH, and in winter, put some blush on your cheeks.
- Natural hair gets thumbs up. I'm not a big fan of dying hair. Seriously. I don't hate my hair color THAT much.
- Buy Vaseline. It's the instant and cheap way to remove eye makeup and fix chapped lips.
- Layers also get thumbs up. Your hair will look fuller and thicker.
- If you have acne, go to a dermatologist. Get rid of it, fast. Personally, I would go to a dermatologist myself, if it weren't for my old-school-mother breathing down my neck.
- Spend money on NECESSARY beauty products. FYI, these include: Eyeshadow, foundation, cleanser, hair brushes, makeup brushes, blowdryers, tweezers, flatirons, blush, bronzers, powders, and the like.
- Products to test first. Includes: foundation, lipstick, blush, and powder.
- NEVER EVER skip sunscreen. Start now and you can gave beautiful skin by the time you hit fifty.
- To create waves, wrap hair around the barrel of a large curling iron.
- Self-tanners stink. Use them 24-hours before an event.
- Take care of your nails. Even if you aren't into manicures and pedicures (like me), keep them all at the same length and trim them when they get too long.
- Don't line the inside of your eyes. This causes your eyeballs to look smaller. Only at the eyelashes.
- TIP FOR PEOPLE WITH OILY HAIR. Dry shampoo works wonders.
- Shave legs at the end of showering. You can cut down on nicks that way.
- Play up on your best feature. Lips = gloss with bold lipstick color. Eyes = complementary eyeshadow and mascara.
- TIP FOR PEOPLE WITH DRY SKIN. Using a scrub works great.
- Take care of your internal beauty too. Eating healthy, thinking positive, and exercising all help your body and brain function right.
Hugs,
